Thousands of students and alumni of dozens of college fraternities and sororities will be attending their organization’s summer conventions or leadership schools in the next few months.

If you are a summer convention participant, or found out about the Capital Fraternal Caucus from another participant, please make sure to register for the website and send a letter to your Members of Congress. These two steps will credit your organization and help to voice the concerns of fraternities and sororities nationwide.

On behalf of the 69 member fraternities of the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), and the 26 sororities of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), let us welcome you to the Capital Fraternal Caucus (CFC) website. Now more than ever we need your help to ensure policymakers in Washington enact laws that allow us to sustain and grow Greek life.

This website is intended to harness the collective voice of nine million fraternity and sorority members nationwide. Please start your involvement by registering on the website (see the Get Involved tab above) and giving us the information we need to contact you in the future to take specific actions that help Greek life.

After you register, you will find the CFC website has a variety of resources that will encourage you to get involved in our Greek government relations program. From our site, you can research legislation that positively impacts Greek life and then write your federal elected officials in support of that legislation. You can find out how your Senators and Congressman rate on the “Greek Report Card,” which grades lawmakers and their support of issues that help fraternities and sororities. Under Greek News, you will find a comprehensive clearinghouse of news about the achievements of our alumni, students and chapters. Through the joint NIC/NPC program GO VOTE ’06, which is housed on this site, both students and alumnae/alumni members can find information on how to register and vote in their home state as well as access to links for how people can get involved in the political process in this crucial election year.

We hope this web site will help you learn about who we are, what we are doing, and why federal policymakers should preserve the vital role Greek life plays in America today. Please register on the site today so we can work with you to stay active on our issues. With your help, we can ensure that fraternities and sororities have their voice heard in Washington.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth A. Quick
